Editando Rock Band (Ingles)

I brokeded my PS2 and am getting a PS3 in about a day or so.
I probably won't be updating this guide that much.

Place to Put Rock Band Customs:
http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9342
Thanks Boberta13k

For those Ripping DLC:
Rock Band DLC rips will work 100%

Coming Soon.....
RockBandTool V.2 (maybe final release? Let's hope not!)
- Uses new RockAudio features(padding, being the most important)
- Can make a VGS with Split Tracks (For GH and DLC Rips)
- Ability to Patch Locale.dtb to add certain things(new categories and Scorehero credits(thanks to TNTX))
- Better FAQ Section with More Questions
- The RockAudio Syntax in BAT File will be Freeqaz's modified version of VGSCreate

Getting a single song in the game is difficult and unfun.
Hopefully, a tool with GUI will come out soon, making it easier and nullifying this version of the guide. A newer guide will come out once the process is easier.
And remember:
GH3 Customs were just like this at this point. You had to do a big bunch of stuff to get a single song in. Now, there are multiple GUI's to do it. Also, for PS2 Users, there is BuildGH3, making the process way easier. I'm guessing some very talented person(like GameZelda) will make an amazing tool that is like Ghex which can preview the chart and all of that. Only time will Tell.

Note for some beginners:
This tutorial, Nor RockBandTool, is "Fool-Proof", although RockBandTool makes it partially easier to do this, it's still not *perfect*. If you have never hacked a PS2 Game before, please read some info on the proper method of backing up a game, and modding your PlayStation 2. I will not give links for Modding your PS2 or Backing Up a Game.

FOR THOSE USING THE RIPKIT:
No, it won't work because of a Hackjob HDR

FOR PAL USERS:
No, ArkTool doesn't open the Arks YET.
When Xorloser updates it THEN it'll open em, and I know some of you are
anxious to get the extra songs.
Sorry.

FOR THOSE USING THE FIRST LAYER ONLY(MAIN_0 and MAIN_1):
Go ahead and replace the files. When you save it'll give you a "Error Saving Ark!" message, but it works. This happened to me but the songs still worked and the setlist had correct names. Xorloser should have like a check to tell if there are only 2 arks, if there are, don't give this error...

FOR THOSE WANTING ALL THE ARKS:
First, create a Rock Band ISO Using Iso Creating/Burning Software(Untouched disk)
Open the ISO in Apache2(I use Apache3)
There is an option *somewhere*(can't remember) to switch layers.
The other ARKS are on that other layer. Layer 2.
Hope this helps Acra

Hello and welcome to the tutorial of...
How to get Custom Songs into Rock Band-PS2!
What you can do:
Replace longer songs with shorter songs
Make Something Like Jordan and it will play
Replace every song with the GGaHT pss and then replace songs(for songs with Freebirdish Length)
Rip DLC and Play It with correct solos and overdrive(I did Thrasher!)
---
What you CANNOT do:
Put that 23 minute Dream Theater song in the game
Put a song LONGER than GGaHT(goes with above)
Make the background a music video
Change the background
Apparently, get a working Drum Chart...(We don't know if the "play" event actually allows drums to play. I need to get confirmation from Acra or a video from someone)

Thanks for your help with Rock Band!

can someone please upload & link to them?

Give me a minute and I'll just upload my entire folder. Does MegaUpload work?

MegaUpload
Rapidshare
FileFront
MediaFire

If anyone wants it anywhere else, just let me know via PM or the thread.

PSSInject (PSVGS.exe) : http://www.savefile.com/files/1539151
RockBandTool, my batfile to make it easier to put songs in.
http://www.savefile.com/files/1582472

After you have all the tools(or tools and bat file), you'll need to get one thing straight:
All Audio must have 2.9 additional seconds added(a good way to do it is to sync the audio to the regular offset and then look in feedback(dB) and make sure it's synced. Then go in Audacity or your preferred audio studio and add the 2.9 seconds additionally)

Part 1:RockAudio
First off, we have 2 methods:
The Hard Way(I had to do it this way until I made the tool)
OR
The Easy Way(Use bat file found here:http://www.savefile.com/files/1582472)

Going the easy way first:
1. Put ALL of your tools and audio in ONE folder(make sure vgskey.rkey is in the folder also)
2. Run the bat file and follow the instructions - see below(make sure you get everything right!)

Instructions:
Hit enter
Type "2" without quotes
Hit enter
First off, hit enter.
It'll ask you for the Audio file name
Then it'll ask you for the Output VGS name
Then the Songname
Then if you want to add the -usebass command(for oggs I think)
Hit enter
Optional:Open your VGS and look at the end and you should see keykeykeykeykeyk
Hit enter
Read the outro
Goto Part 2

----------------
That wasn't hard, was it?
Hard Way(oh noes)
Get your Ogg, Mp3, or WAV file ready.
Open the Command Prompt and lead it to the folder you have the stuff in.
Type this:
Code:
rockaudio convert (you can put -usebass here) -channels=1,2,0,0,0,0,0,0,0 -channelsamples=28000,28000,28000,28000,28000,28000,28000,28000,28000 infile.mp3 output.vgs

Except substitute infile.mp3 with audio name and outfile.vgs with VGS name you want
Optional:
Go into a HEX editor and add 16 bytes of Anything to the end.

Doesn't matter what way you took.
They both do the same.
Part 2:PSSInject
Like before, have all VGS files, PSS Files, and RockLib files in the same folder(It's crowded but oh well)
Double click on PSSInject(PSVGS.exe)
Hit i and then hit enter
Type in (name of VGS)
Type in (name of PSS)
If done correctly and if the VGS will fit inside the PSS you won't get a WARNING

Import it with ArkTool with "Perform Crypts" unchecked.(and also import your mid!)
Compile ISO, Burn, and Play!

Here are the list of song times (including DLC, sorry) from Rock Band.
ALL Credit goes to GFFFH.
Please, have a cookie.
Eventually, this list will have Ondisc Only Songs.
